Last week, I traveled to Paris and went to visit The Louvre as part of my A Level Communication and Culture exam work. I instantly decided to check out the area of Mesopotamia and Iran as I thought it would be interesting to see what the French looted from these countries.
This is the part in Musée du Louvre that belongs to ancient Mesopotamia!
Though it was a beautiful honor to see these incredibly crafted sculptures and arts, it was very unsettling to acknowledge that this part of Mesopotamian history is somewhere in a museum in France. These beautiful things belong to their rightful owners and it is disgusting that another country can make money of the culture, history (and stolen art) of another country.
