"In our millions, in our billions, we are all Palestinians"
This was the streets of London on July 19, 2014.
100,000 people marched from 10 Downing St to the Israeli Embassy (The biggest demo I have ever attended for Palestine/Gaza). It took the crowd over 30 minutes just to march through Trafalgar Sq. The march was very peaceful and those involved were so friendly as always. I have never seen the streets of London so loud, full and passionate as I did on this day. People of all races and religion took to the streets.
Shame (and surprise surprise) that most of the media who reported this made it seem much less than what it actually was. BBC reported that only “15,000" came out and then edited it stating they were ”not able to verify how many were there”. Yeah, either your reporters need to sign up for mymaths.co.uk or you need to start reporting the truth.
Nonetheless, Saturday was a beautiful reminder that the British public will not stand in silence as Israel commits its crimes against humanity and we will not allow the British gov to support an illegal state built on colonialism and apartheid.
Let’s remember that the Palestinian struggle consists not only of Palestinian Muslims but Christian, Jews, the Palestinian minorities, the Palestinians in Gaza, the African migrants, believer or non-believer. Til the people of Palestine and Gaza are free, we will ALWAYS take to the streets.
